Lehigh Acres, FL (November 21, 2020) - Two people were killed in a crash that took place in Lehigh Acres on Friday, November 20th. The accident happened along State Road 82 near the Hodges Funeral Home.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 50year-old man was driving an SUV carrying a 44-year-old passenger. As the SUV pulled out of the funeral home, it drove into the path of a second vehicle heading westbound on SR 82, causing a collision between the two vehicles. Both the driver and passenger of the SUV were killed as a result of the collision. Three occupants of the second vehicle, the 19-year-od driver, and an 18 and 19-year-old passenger, all sustained minor injuries.

The deceased victims have not been identified at this time. There is no information on whether any charges are expected to be filed as an investigation into the crash continues.

Fatal car accidents in Florida take place about once every three hours. The cause of each crash must be carefully investigated by authorities as they work to determine which driver should be held responsible for the accident. Sadly, many innocent victims are killed in Florida car accidents as families are left behind to mourn the sudden and tragic loss of their loved ones.
