St. Lucie County, FL - Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Florida’s Turnpike

St. Lucie County, FL (August 11, 2020) - The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in St. Lucie County on Tuesday, August 11th. The crash happened around 4:00 a.m. on the Florida's Turnpike.

According to reports from the scene, a pedestrian was walking along the roadway near mile marker 172 when they were struck by a tractor-trailer, according to Lt. Yanko Reyes of the Florida Highway Patrol. The pedestrian, a 41-year-old man from Orem, Utah, was killed in the crash. The truck driver was identified as a 51-year-old man from Debary, Florida. The driver stopped at the scene following the crash.

There is no information on whether any charges are expected at this time.
