Clermont, FL - Diane Craig Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on State Road 50

Clermont, FL (November 24, 2020) - A 74-year-old woman is dead following a hit-and-run crash on State Road 50 in Clermont. The accident took place just after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21st. 

The Clermont Police Department responded to the scene. According to officers, Diane Craig was attempting to cross SR 50 when she was hit by a vehicle at the intersection with Grand Highway. Craig was rushed to South Lake Hospital and later airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. The vehicle that struck Craig fled the scene before officers could arrive. Police are searching for the vehicle, believed to be a newer model Lexus with possible front end damage. The vehicle was traveling east on SR 50 following the crash.

Anyone with information regarding the accident or the suspect is asked to call the Clermont Police Department. There are no further details available at this time.
