Cape Coral, FL (November 26, 2020) - A child was killed after a car crashed into a canal in Cape Coral on Wednesday night. The crash happened in the 3000 block of NE 6th Avenue.
The Cape Coral Police Department responded to the accident scene. According to a report from police, two adults and a child were traveling in the vehicle when the car veered off the roadway and went into the canal. the vehicle then became submerged underwater. Rescue workers arrived at the scene and located the victims in the vehicle. The child was taken to a hospital with serious injuries and later pronounced dead. There is no word on the child's identity at this time. There is also no information on whether anyone else was injured in the accident.
An investigation is ongoing at this time. There are no additional details available.
