Pasco County, FL - Woman in a Wheelchair Seriously Hurt while Crossing State Road 52

Pasco County, FL (August 9, 2020) - A woman in a wheelchair was seriously hurt after being hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross State Road 52 in Pasco County. The crash occurred around 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 8th.

According to investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol, the 45-year-old woman from Land O' Lakes attempted to cross the road when she was hit by a sedan driven by a 19-year-old woman. The victim was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. There is no word on her condition at this time. Troopers have not identified either the victim or the sedan driver. Officials remained at the scene for several hours following the accident. Motorists in the area were advised to use caution and to find an alternate route if possible.

There is no word on whether the driver will be charged. No further information is available at this time.
