Jackson County, FL - One Killed in Car Accident on County Road 280

Jackson County, FL (August 6, 2020) - One person is dead and another was seriously hurt after a two-vehicle crash in Jackson County. The accident took place on Thursday, August 6th on County Road 280 near State Road 73.

According to reports, an 85-year-old man from Alford was traveling westbound on CR 280. At the same time, a tractor-trailer was traveling southbound on State Road 73. The driver of the first vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the left side of the tractor-trailer. The first vehicle rotated before coming to rest on the northbound shoulder. The 85-year-old driver died in the crash while the tractor-trailer driver was taken to Ascension Sacred Herat Bay Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The two crash victims have not been identified at this time.

No further information is available.
