East Palatka, FL (November 28, 2020) - One teenager is dead and three others injured following a single-car crash in East Palatka. The crash took place on Friday, November 27th around 4:45 p.m. on State Road 207.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling southbound on SR 207 when the driver lost control and crossed over the grassy median before it overturned several times and came to rest. An 18-year-old boy inside the truck died at the scene. Three other teenage occupants of the truck were treated for serious injuries at a local hospital. Only one of the passengers was wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating at this time. There is no further information available. 

Fatal car accidents in Florida take place about once every 3 hours and approximately eight times each day. Last year, approximately 3,000 people were killed and 250,000 sustained injuries in Florida car accidents. There is certainly nothing more devastating than a serious or fatal car accident, especially when you have lost a loved one.
