Osceola County, FL - Three Dead, Two Hurt in Head-On Crash on State Road 60

Osceola County, FL (November 30, 2020) - Three people were killed and two others suffered injuries in a serious car accident in Osceola County on Monday morning. The accident occurred on State Road 60 around 5:25 a.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 21-year-old woman was driving an SUV southbound on Kenansville road near SR 60 when her car veered into the northbound lanes. While in the northbound lanes, the car collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by a 37-year-old man from Okeechobee. The 37-year-old man and one of his passengers died at the scene. The female SUV driver also died in the accident. Two other passengers in the pickup truck were seriously hurt and were taken to a hospital for treatment. The crash caused Kenansville Road to be closed for several hours while police and investigators were at the scene.

There is no word on the cause of the crash at this time. No additional details are available.

According to statistics published by NHTSA, a Florida car accident happens somewhere in our state about every 92 seconds and a fatal crash occurs about once every three hours. Sadly, many innocent victims are injured or killed due to the actions of a negligent driver. Each crash must be fully investigated in order to determine the cause and which driver should be held responsible for the outcome.
