Putnam County, FL (December 1, 2020) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating following a Tuesday morning accident in Putnam County. The crash happened on State Road 207 near Wildwood Lane.

According to officials, a 29-year-old woman from St. Augustine was driving an SUV southbound on State Road 207 when her car ran off the roadway. The woman attempted to correct the path of the vehicle but the car overturned and ejected her passenger, a 31-year-old man. The man died at the crash scene while the woman was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Neither of the two victims has been identified at this time. 

Troopers are still investigating the cause of the accident. There is no further information available. 

According to statistics, there were approximately 3,000 fatalities suffered due to car accidents in Florida last year. A Florida car accident can not only be dangerous but can also be deadly in the worst-case scenario. Too often family members are forced to move forward without their loved ones due to the actions of a negligent motorist.
