St. Petersburg, FL (December 1, 2020) - A 31-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that took place in St. Petersburg on Tuesday. The crash happened on Roosevelt Boulevard near I-275.
The St. Petersburg Police Department responded to the accident scene. According to officers, two cars and a motorcycle were involved in a crash during the morning commute on I-275. The motorcyclist, later identified as 31-year-old Edwin Colon, died in the accident. Police say that Colon was traveling westbound on Roosevelt when a vehicle entered his roadway and collided with a second vehicle before the motorcycle was struck. Colon died at the crash scene. There is no word on whether anyone else was hurt.
Police are conducting an investigation at this time. No further information is available regarding the accident.
Florida motorcycle accidents carry a great risk of death or serious injuries. Motorcycle crashes have a much greater rate of injuries when compared to all other types of accidents.
