Davie, FL (December 5, 2020) - A driver was killed after being hit by a car that was engaged in illegal street racing in Davie. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Northwest 77th Avenue near Stirling Road.
According to reports, a car was involved in a street race when it attempted to make a U-turn onto Northwest 77th. As the car turned, it slammed into an ongoing vehicle, killing the driver. The driver of the car that was racing suffered an arm injury and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Neither of the two men involved in the crash has been identified. No other injuries were reported in the collision. The crash caused a road closure and major delays for motorists on Northwest 77th Avenue.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time. There is no further information available.
