Sarasota, FL (December 6, 2020) - A 16-year-old boy died in a car accident in Sarasota on Friday, December 4th. The crash happened just after 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of University Parkway and Blithe Avenue.
According to a report, a 17-year-old boy was operating a vehicle with a 16-year-old front-seat passenger, as well as 16-year-old and 15-year-old back seat passengers. The car was traveling eastbound when the driver left the roadway. The car traveled into a grassy area struck a culvert, and then went airborne before hitting a utility pole and coming to rest. The 16-year-old boy in the front seat died in the accident while the three other occupants were transported to the hospital in serious condition. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident at this time. There is no further information available.
