Putnam County, FL (December 7, 2020) - Two men were killed in a head-on crash that took place in Putnam County on Sunday night. The crash happened along State Road 20 near Whispering Pines Trail.
According to police, a 66-year-old man from Green Cove Spring was traveling the wrong way when the vehicle collided with a car driven by a 36-year-old man from Palatka. Both men were killed as a result of the crash. Neither of the victims has been identified at this time. There is no word on the cause of the collision at this time. There were no additional injuries reported.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing. No further information has been released.
Fatal car accidents are reported in Florida about eight times per day. Last year, there were more than 3,000 fatalities in Florida car accidents with many victims losing their lives in crashes that were not their fault. There is nothing more devastating than the sudden and tragic loss of a family member due to a traffic crash.
