Pinellas County, FL - One Killed, One Hurt in Two-Car Accident on Anclote Boulevard

Pinellas County, FL (August 2, 2020) - A man from Holiday was killed and a woman was seriously hurt following a two-car accident on Saturday, August 1st. The crash took place on Anclote Boulevard near the intersection with Blue Marlin Boulevard just before 11:00 a.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 76-year-old man was driving a sedan southbound on Blue Marlin around 10:55 a.m. when he came to a stop sign at the intersection with Anclote Boulevard. The man failed to stop or failed to yield to oncoming traffic and made a right turn onto Anclote. As he turned, his car struck a sedan driven by a 20-year-old Holiday woman. The man suffered critical injuries and was killed in the crash. The woman was seriously hurt and rushed to a local hospital in an unknown condition. Neither of the drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision and neither has been identified.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing. There is no additional information available at this time.
