Lake Wales, FL (July 26, 2020) - A 57-year-old man from Lakeland was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Lake Wales on Thursday, July 23rd. The crash took place just before 9:00 p.m. at 5138 Scenic Highway near the entrance to the Enchanted Mobile Home Park.

Police say that Robert Mason was driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue on Scenic Highway. At the same time, 23-year-old Ignacio Ubieta was driving a 2000 Ford F-150 truck, also on Scenic Highway. Ubieta was on the roadway when a collision occurred with Mason's Nissan Rogue. Mason was rushed to Lake Wales Medical Center following the crash. He later succumbed to his injuries. 

The road was closed for nearly three hours while police investigated the accident. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing and there is no further information available.
