Punta Gorda, FL (July 26, 2020) - A man from Cape Coral is dead following a truck accident in Punta Gorda on Saturday, July 25th. The crash occurred around 2:20 p.m. on Taylor Road near the intersection with Jones Loop Road.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene shortly after the crash occurred. According to troopers, the 67-year-old Punta Gorda resident was involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer near the intersection. The man suffered critical injuries and died at the crash scene. The truck driver was not injured. Officials have not identified the deceased victim and have said that both drivers were wearing seatbelts when the crash took place.
No additional details have been released at this time and an investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
