Lee County, FL (December 14, 2020) - Police are investigating a fatal crash between a car and a golf cart in Fort Myers. The crash took place on N. Cleveland Ave. near the intersection with Leisure Lane around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14th. 

The collision caused the entire southbound lane to close down while police began their investigation and worked to clean up debris at the scene. One man was killed but there is no word on the identity of the victim and no information on the cause of the crash. A white sedan was also at the scene with heavy damage to its front end.

Police are still investigating. There is no further information available at this time. 

According to statistics, there were approximately 3,000 fatalities suffered due to car accidents in Florida last year. A Florida car accident can not only be dangerous but can also be deadly in the worst-case scenario. Too often family members are forced to move forward without their loved ones due to the actions of a negligent motorist.
