Fort Myers, FL (December 17, 2020) - A 40-year-old woman from Cape Coral was hurt in a three-car crash that took place on Metro Parkway in Fort Myers. The crash happened on Thursday, December 17th around 6:15 a.m.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash scene. According to a report, the Cape Coral woman was heading southbound on Metro Parkway when she swerved to avoid a tractor-trailer that was attempting to back into a business. The woman's car veered into the path of an oncoming SUV and struck the SUV before colliding with the trailer of the semi-truck. Her vehicle became wedged underneath the trailer. Rescue crews responded to the scene and extricated the woman. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Her identity has not been released at this time.

The FHP is investigating at this time. No additional details are available.
