Palm Bay, FL (December 20, 2020) - An 11-year-old girl suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident that occurred in Palm Bay on Saturday, December 19th. The accident happened around 10:30 p.m on Palm Bay Road near Hollywood Boulevard.

According to the Palm Bay Police Department, the girl was in a crosswalk when she was hit by a vehicle traveling on Palm Bay Road. The girl was thrown several feet after the accident and was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando. The motorist left the scene following the accident. At this time, it is not known if the girls' injuries are considered to be life-threatening.

Police are still investigating the accident. There is no word on potential charges at this time. No additional information is available.

Pedestrian crashes take place multiple times per day in Florida. Sadly, more than 75% of all Florida pedestrian accidents result in injuries for the victim.
