Lee County, FL (December 24, 2020) - A woman from Fort Myers sustained serious injuries in a pedestrian accident that took place on U.S. 41 in Lee County. The accident was reported on Wednesday, December 23rd around 7:30 p.m. 

The 40-year-old woman attempted to cross the travel lanes of U.S. 41 close to Harper Road when she was hit by an SUV driven by a 38-year-old Fort Myers man. The SUV driver stopped shortly after the crash and remained at the scene. The woman, who has not been identified at this time, was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital where she was listed in serious condition. No other injuries were reported in the accident. The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash and there is no word on whether any charges are expected to be filed.
