New Port Richey, FL (December 27, 2020) - A 22-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash that took place on Christmas Day in New Port Richey, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident took place around 10:00 p.m. on U.S. 19 near Manor Drive.

Troopers say that a vehicle was traveling southbound on U.S. 19 in the outside lane while the pedestrian was walking in the northbound lanes. The vehicle entered a northbound turn lane and struck the unidentified pedestrian. The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was killed in the crash. The driver then fled the scene before police could arrive. Authorities are still searching for the suspect and are looking for a white Audi A6 SUV. The vehicle is believed to have left-end damage from the crash.
