Lee County, FL - Two Children Hurt in Crash on Apaloosa Parkway

Lee County, FL (January 2, 2021) - Two children suffered injuries after a crash that took place in Lee County on Friday, January 1st. The accident happened on Apaloosa Lane near the intersection with Daniels Parkway.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 44-year-old man from Indiana was driving an SUV eastbound on Daniels Parkway when he attempted to make a left turn onto Apaloosa Lane. As the man attempted to turn, it collided with an oncoming pickup truck that was traveling westbound on Daniela. A 9-year-old and an 11-year-old boy in the SUV sustained critical injuries in the accident, while a 34-year-old woman in the SUV also suffered serious injuries. The male driver sustained minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries. 

Troopers have not released the identities of those involved in the crash. There is no additional information available at this time.

According to NHTSA, a reportable car accident in Florida takes place about once every 90 seconds. Unfortunately, serious and fatal crashes take place on Florida's roadways every day and innocent victims are likely to be involved in these accidents. The number of negligent drivers throughout Florida is a large contributing factor to the injury crashes that occur in our state.
