Columbia County, FL (July 10, 2020) - A 76-year-old man from Lake City died in a motorcycle accident in Columbia County on Friday, July 10th. The accident happened around 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of SW Bascom Norris Drive and SW Mary Ethel Lane.

The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene in reference to the crash. Troopers say that the motorcyclist was nearing the intersection when he was struck by a sedan. The sedan driver failed to yield the right-of-way to the motorcycle before entering the intersection, resulting in the crash. The motorcyclist, who has not been identified, suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead. The sedan driver has not been identified and there were no additional injuries reported.
