West Palm Beach, FL - 57-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash on Florida’s Turnpike

West Palm Beach, FL (January 11, 2021) - A 57-year-old woman from West Palm Beach died in a crash along Florida's Turnpike on Sunday. The crash happened around noon near Donald Ross Road and mile marker 112.

The Florida Highway Patrol was called to the crash scene. Troopers say that the deceased victim was traveling southbound when traffic slowed in front of her. The woman failed to slow her vehicle and crashed into the back of an SUV driven by a 70-year-old man from Pembroke Pines. The man suffered serious injuries in the accident. The crash caused a chain-reach accident with a third car. The driver of that car sustained minor injuries. No one involved in the crash has been identified.

An investigation is ongoing. There is no additional information available.

Florida experiences approximately 400,000 reportable car accidents every year. Of this number, approximately 250,000 crashes will cause injury to the victim.
