Live Oak, FL - Pedestrian Killed in U.S. 129 Hit-and-Run Crash

Live Oak. FL (January 14, 2021) - A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident on U.S. Highway 129 in Live Oak. The crash happened on Thursday, January 14th at approximately 1:30 a.m.

According to troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol, a male pedestrian was crossing the road when he was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene following the crash. The pedestrian, who has not been identified at this time, died at the crash scene. Troopers do not have a description of the vehicle at this time. There were no other injuries reported in the crash.

Anyone with details regarding the accident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Suwannee County at 386-208-8477. No further information is available at this time.

According to the most recent statistics, there were approximately 105,000 hit-and-run crashes in Florida last year. This number accounted for about one-quarter of all reported crashes in our state. A hit-and-run accident can and often does lead to serious injuries for the affected victim.
